At 6:30 PM on November 18th in the Gaines Theater, the Christopher Newport University Public History Center, the Department of History and the History Club present “Why History Matters: The 800-Year Anniversary of the Magna Carta”.

The opening lines of the 1215 Great Charter now held in the British Library (MS Cotton Augustus II.106)
The following panelists will discuss the historical background, legal implications and political economy of the Magna Carta and its 800-year legacy:
